Boys Player Pathway

We see player development as a marathon not a sprint at Sporting Delaware. Players develop physically, mentally, technically and tactically at different times in their playing careers. Our technical staff is one of the most experienced in the country and we have a professional curriculum designed to help players of all ages and abilities reach their individual and team goals!

Sporting Delaware Boys Player Pathway

2014 & 2013
U9 & U10

Kids at the younger age groups are learning the game and developing the core skills to be an effective soccer player. Our mission at Sporting Delaware is to help players grow their technical skills and ‘Soccer IQ’ while ensuring the ‘love’ for the game is growing equally. Player development is the focus rather than results. Players are placed on teams based on their ability, so they are continually challenged.

Sporting Delaware will continue to ensure that player development is the primary focus when stepping on the pitch. Coaches will focus on tactics and style of play and using the ‘Sporting Way’. Players become more serious about the game and we begin to instill the four pillars of soccer.

  • ACELA MLS League - As a member of the pre-elite team the emphasis will be to challenge players both technically and tactically while preparing them to transition to the next level.  Tryouts are listed on our website, and player ID sessions are offered throughout the year.
  • Sporting Delaware Pre-Acela Team will compete in the Central League  - A year round program promoting the technical and fundamental aspects of the game. Focus on developing the individual player with professional staff members and club curriculum.  Identification Session options are offered outside of the tryout time period.
